BABOK v3 section 9.5 - Interaction Skills (8.5 in V2)
The third shared section is Teamwork. Conflict resolution, building trust, promoting a sense of shared ownership, and fostering a collaborative working environment are all necessary factors. V2 8.3 discusses the advisability of understanding team development models and recognizing the stage of a team's lifecycle.
The first new section in V3, 9.5.4 is Negotiation and Conflict Resolution. This section drills down on conflict resolution as mentioned in .3. More than verbal expressions of conflict should be taken into considerations such as tone of voice and attitude. There should be concern for the other side's feelings and needs. The problem and the person should be kept separate. Repeated meetings with concerned parties may be needed.
The last new section in V3 is Teaching. The business analyst is responsible not only for disseminating information but for ensuring that the information is received and understood by stakeholders. The outcome of teaching should be clarity for all parties.
