Topic: Requirements Driven Project Process
It's all about the requirements!
Speaker: Monte Malenke
Requirements play the single most important role on any business technology project. Failure to understand and properly use requirements throughout the project process always results in diminished project and business performance. This can even lead to project and/or business failure. Delivered products that are defect free, super-fast and beautiful but don’t meet the business need miss the mark.
As Business Analysts, we have a high calling and responsibility within any business enterprise to be diligent about helping the organization truly understand what business requirements are, their importance and centrality to the entire project process and how they are best managed.
This session examines this business-critical function, presenting key principles, techniques and real-world examples to guarantee requirements are properly identified, managed and used by all project team members and other business stakeholders. Classic requirements related pitfalls and their consequences are also examined so they can be avoided. If you are a new Business Analyst, these are essential things to know and master. For the experienced Business Analyst, this might help identify something that has been hindering project success or help ensure long term viability of product deliverables.
